NO TABOO consists of 6 professional
musicians that work well together, have tons of fun, and get their audience up
an dancing... They play numerous fairs and festivals, night clubs, weddings, and
corporate events. Bimmy Rode lead singer, co-founder of the band, is widely known
in the S.F. bay area for many years for her powerful and soulful voice. She has
opened shows for greats such as BB King, Jefferson Starship,Taj Mahal, just to
name a few. Her dynamic and soulful style grabs everyone's attention as she is
an exceptional singer. Some of her influences are Etta James, Aretha Franklin,
& Bonnie Raitt. Her latin conga drums deliver driving rythmns and excitement.
Michael Powers, is also the co-founder of the band, lead singer, lead guitarist,
violinist, and NO TABOO's song writer.
He recorded at Westlake Studios, done commercials, videos, and is working on the
new CD for No Taboo. He has toured
extensively and played for years in the L.A. circuit. With numerous recordings
under his belt, one would say he has taste that many guitarists strive to have.
Jeff Marshall, lead singer, bassist, and front man, is so funky that one couldn't
sit still. Hailing from Santa Cruz, he played in Red Rice & Beans, voted "Monterey's
Pick" for 10 years straight. He really knows how to please the audience with
his playfulness and charm. David Bastian, keyboards, tenor sax, flute, harmonica,
& vocals, is so multitalented, he would be an asset to any band. Having done
many outstanding ventures with many artists over the years, he loves playing with
NO TABOO where he can "really
do his thing." He is truly a soul man and everyone loves him. David Pazos
is NO TABOO's endless energy drummer.
He has worked many years in the music industry in L.A. and recorded for Capitol
Records doing session work for various artists. His versatility of styles makes
him truly unique. He is so exciting to watch as he keeps the rythmns strong and
steady. From funk to smooth jazz, he can do it all... Aaron Gayden, keyboards,
vocals, is the 6th and newest addition to the group. His vocals are superb and
he can really comp the horn patches as needed. Vocally he has a 4 octave range
and wows everyone with his "Prince" renditions. A master's degree in
music, touring extensively, writing and recording his own music, makes Aaron round
out the band completely.
