Born in Sacramento, CA. April began writing songs at the early age of 12. She was then given her first guitar in High School and began to take lessons. Singing and performing came easily for her, in fact so easy, that within her first year of performing, she was discovered in the Jimmie Dean / True Value National Competition. That taste of success, along with a strong business mind, coupled with a "Do it Yourself " attitude, led April into a full time music career that garnered her National success!
"April is a seasoned performer, opening for over 40 major country artists and legends over the past eight years. She has won four years in a row for her and her six piece band, "The Texas Rangers", as band and artist of the year. April was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996 for Singer/Songwriter, proving her fans and the music industry professionals believe in her talent as well.
April has had the fortune of performing, along with the Texas Rangers, over 200 shows per year for the past eight years, relying on her business etiquette to help her gain jobs year after year. Whether April performed as an opening act, at a fair or on a festival stage she sings with power and soul.
Through the years, April has penned 4 successful albums. Her latest album, titled "Strong Willed Woman", has already sold over 60, 000 units. April spent three years in Nashville, TN. "The Songwriting Capitol of the World", where she enjoyed co-writing with the many great writers, along with the honor of working at The Nashville Songwriters Association International, where she served as the Membership Director. April continues to regularly perform at the Legendary "Bluebird Cafe" to a standing room only crowd, and she is a regular guest on the 75 year old radio show the "Opry Star Spotlight" for WSM 650 AM, Nashville, TN.
