The California Cajun Orchestra is one of only a few remaining groups to specialize in authentic traditional French dance music of southwest Louisiana. Singing in Cajun French patois, the California Cajun Orchestra evokes a spicy fais do-do in the Bayou Country complete with couples wending their way around the dance floor! This rarely heard style of Cajun music has roots which go back for over 100 years; the California Cajun Orchestra uses the one-row diatonic Cajun accordion, fiddles and guitar, updated with the addition of the vest rubboard (most often used in Zydeco music), drums and bass.
