Brandon Flowers, vocalist and David Keuning, guitarist joined forces to form The Killers in the year 2002 after composing the band’s soon to be hit, “Mr.
Brightside.” The Killers took the pop world by storm in the summer of 2004
with the hit song, “Somebody Told Me,” from their debut album, Hot
Fuss. The song extracts from the bands main influences, New Order, The Cure, and
The Smiths. The Killers toured for two years after the release of Hot Fuss, then
began to work on a follow-up album with legendary producers Alan Moulder and Flood.
The result was the album, Sam’s Town, released in 2006. The album spent
forty-two weeks on the Billboard Top 200. By the release of Day & Age, it
was apparent that the band started to experiment with different instruments. "I
Can't Stay" carries a tropical sound, “Losing Touch," is am up-tempo
track with grim lyrics, meanwhile, "Spaceman," is a glam-rock song whose
lyrics reference alien abduction. The band has received seven Grammys, and a variety
of MTV and NME awards. They’ve headlined many large festivals in the UK
and Europe, including the Reading and Leeds Festival and Pukkelpop. The Killers
have sold out numerous venues in the U.S. including Madison Square Garden.”
I want us to be a positive force. People think that we're overconfident and cocky,
but it comes from excitement. It's not 'I'm better than you,' it's that I can't
wait till you hear this song because I know what it does to me physically. I'm
able to listen to our songs and not think 'this is us playing,' I'm able to allow
the music to affect me and I know if it's good or not. Sometimes people think
I'm running my mouth, when I'm truly excited." Check out our other Rock Stars
