Interwoven

This year’s Holiday Party combined the opening of INTERWOVEN’s new headquarters building with a Holiday celebration for employees and their spouses. CEO Martin Brauns’ idea was to combine the two special occasions into one grand event - and grand it was.

Even though the new building encompasses four floors and100, 000 square feet of office space, the “party” area wouldn’t accommodate the 800 employees and friends. Associated Entertainment was asked to come up with a simple, cost effective solution to the problem of space allotment. After surveying the campus, we decided to call on our favorite tent builders, HDO Tenting. Their idea was to install a 120,000 square foot clear span tent with 12’ tall sidewalls that would accommodate the necessary trusses used to light this very special party.

Trucco Lighting and Sound provided the technology for lighting of the space. Their concept of intelligent lighting complimented by a 60’ fiber optic curtain that followed the upper tent line was a stroke of creativity. Lighting makes a party, and as you can see by the pictures, this event was no exception.

The walkway that connected the tent to the main building was over 200’ of clear wall, creating a beautiful grand entranceway and promenade decorated with twinkle light covered lattice over garden shrubbery of boxwood.

Our concept was for guests to enter the building to the joyful singing of Dickens Carolers, view the open house and then go on to the tent area where Merlin, the Nutcracker and his assistant, the Holiday Elf would direct the guests into the party.

Once in the tent, Piano Madness was jamming up a storm. The dueling pianos performed hits from the 50's to the 70's and had guests joining in on their favorite chorus.

Theme Party Productions created the decor. (Thanks Jill, you worked wonders) They combined multi leveled silver Christmas trees with 15’ tall Troches highlighted with magnificent floral bouquets. The entrance piece was a walk-through colonnade emblazoned with Interwoven Holiday Party.

The food display was fabulous. Victoria Emmons Catering created a central buffet area for hors d’oeuvres, sushi and assorted finger foods that beautifully complimented the 3 carving stations where Barons of Beef, Country baked hams and fresh roasted tom turkeys were being served.

And the announcer said - ”And now - direct from Las Vegas, the #1 show band in the country, Rhythm Nation!”

The band took the stage. Their job- Get the guests out of their seats - on to the dance floor ... and shake their bodies down to the ground!!! Yes, from Motown to Disco - love ballads to rap - Rhythm Nation and special guest Danny Hull, had all 800 guests movin’ to the rhythm that The Nation played.

For the non-dancing guests, 4/S CASINO was on hand with Black Jack, Craps, Roulette tables, one-armed bandits and the famous Las Vegas Big Wheel to add excitement to this very special event. CEO Special Administrative Assistant Rita Zambrano hosted the raffle that included a customized surfboard with the INTERWOVEN logo set into the board.

All-in- all. It was a great night. The guests partied and the band played on. For INTERWOVEN, it marked the end of a year where the adversities of a great nation triumphed over negative forces. INTERWOVEN carried the torch while many other companies caved in. It’s a compliment to this young company and their commitment to the very industry that makes them great.
