Net Market Makers
December 5, 2000
Bonaventure Hotel, Los Angeles
Associated Entertainment Consultants was called on to produce 3 days of events for The Net Market Makers Ground Zero 4 conference in Los Angeles.
This was probably our most demanding series of events. There were 4 events over a three day period, each one having it’s own unique theme and criteria.
We put together a top team of event professionals to pull them off. The most difficult event is featured this month.
Ground Zero 4 - The Next Generation sponsored by Requisite Technology
Big Wave International provided sound, lighting and video screens in the lobby of the Bonaventure Hotel. The trick was the set up. Crews worked from 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM for 3 nights prior to the event. The rigging was 120’ in the air and had to accommodate 120’ of truss over 1’ acres of water. Brian, Mariella and Big John worked overtime to engineer and produce this feat.
Talking Laser Company provided lasers and we have Kevin to thank for his great ideas.
…and what party would be complete without games to play. And did we have games!! There were futuristic games for everyone…Laser Tag, Virtual reality Pods, Virtropolis, Star Wars Pod Racers, Hovercraft Racers and more. Plan-It Interactive provided all. Thanks Skip and Jeff for pulling this one off.
Danny and Karen Castle directed the Cirque du Soleil style artist. All performers were cross-trained and were able to perform the most amazing aerial and ground performances. There were 4 stage areas and the acts roved from one to the other, sometimes performing two feet from the guests and other times 30? in the air.
Atlas Robotics flew Marilyn Mon-robot and Zepron down to interact with the Ground Zero 4 guests. Can you imagine a robot talking to teach and every guest at a party - and answering their questions as well as wisecracking with them?
When we started this project, we needed to find a decor company that would give us 150% of their time and attention - and we did. King Dahl provided the most amazing visual props. He and his crew worked endlessly in creating a futuristic environment at the Bonaventure. Speaking of the Bonaventure … thanks to everyone on the staff of the hotel. It took a major joint effort to pull this one off. Special kudos to Bill Canady, Director of Convention Services.
One of four
This was one of four parties that Net Market Makers asked AEC to produce over three days. The others were a Monday Night Football theme event, featured comedienne Paula Poundstone immediately following Ground Zero 4 - the Next Generation event and an intimate roof top rendezvous for 400 of their best clients on the following evening.
