Deux Amis plays traditional music from the provinces of France on authentic acoustic instruments and in the folk style of each particular region. The tunes, mostly from the 19th and early 20th century are popular ballroom dances, namely waltzes, polkas, schottisches and mazurkas. Also played are the distinctive French branles, rondos, and bourrees. The beautiful melodies and infectious rhythms, combined with unusual instruments and colorful costumes give the audience a rare opportunity to experience a new and unique folk tradition.
